I decide to change my site. I never heard back from flicker, so I went ahead and reposted (not sure if that is an actual term) all the posts that were missing their photos. What I'm trying to say is that I hope I fixed the problem. I'm not sold yet on my new layout but I keep telling myself change can be good it has it's rewards, like a working blog. (my fingers are crossed while typing this)
Note to friends: When I had to delete my old posts I lost all your wonderful comments. This was the biggest lost. Kt

For the clasp I used a hook an eye.. I wrapped the wire around them and then took some little pieces of red velvet and used the sewing machine to go over them again and again. They are very strong and I think they give the necklace a worn look, which I like.

I like to buy necklaces and take them apart. The coins, green bead w/stripes, and red bead are from a necklace from Nepal. I didn't like the necklace as is was, (it had a huge tooth as the focal point). So I took the necklace apart and combined some of the beads with a mixture of green beads.

I made this just the other day. I felt like something soft and delicate to wear. It is sort-of my "Summer is coming to an end" necklace. One of my favorite things to do is pick up shells off the beach during the summer. I wanted to make something to remind me of this and to carry me through the upcoming seasons.

This is very bold for me. I tend to wear low impact jewlery, but these beads seemed like they wanted to be together, so I went with that, and this makes me have a skip in my step when I wear it.

First off, "Thanks Mom for the beautiful beads". I asked my mom to pick me out some beads for Christmas last year and these are some of the beautiful beads that she sent. This is one of my favorite necklaces right now. I have the big black bead set off to the side.
Today our house is as quite as a puddle is after the rain. Jason is upstairs napping. Wyatt is in his room playing a computer game. Jasmine is listening to the Harry Potter #5 book on tape and reading it at the same time (not sure of the actual title, my apologies to Harry Potter fans). Iris is in her room doing her summer homework, which really means she is decorating her desk space again. Last but least, I am getting ready to watch a movie, one of my favorite rainy day activities.

I love the soft blue glaze combined with the yellow and orange flowers. I wanted to make a delicate bowl. I am going to work more with this idea this coming year. I am interested in making my bowls not perfect, by that I mean when I mold them I let the clay decide the form for the most part. I love making up these flowers that I add on they are a simple form but I think they seem realistic in a way.

First off "Thanks!" to everyone who has said such nice things about this blog. I am enjoying putting it together. I talked with Amy last night who said she like the big photos (header images) so I have put those all on the blog above their original posts and have written a little something. I have made the photos on flicker private, so if you want a photo just let me know. All you need to do is use the comment option and I will e-mail it to you. By the way Wyatt took this photo. He said "Mom, please go stand over in the light I want to take your photo".

The other day I was waiting for the tub to fill when I noticed how much I loved the color of my towel with the tiles on the wall. I was loving the smell of the fern bubble bath filling the room, and then I heard someone call out "Mom" and Jason answering "Your mother is taking a bath right now, let's leave her alone." I really loved that.

Warning! You will probably see a ton of laundry photos on my blog. I love to take pictures of laundry, it seems to be a secret that is out there in the open. You can clearly see that this person is crazy about turquoise.
I have numerous treasures from the kids spread throughout the house. Here is one small example; a painting they found leaning against the dumpster "We knew you would love this!!" , a bowl full of rocks and broken shells ( I am not using the word "broken" loosely) and what mom's collection wouldn't be complete with out a couple of sticks found in her children's sweatshirt pockets (This takes place all the time when I'm getting ready to throw them in the wash). These are just a few of the items that will always be part of my permanent collection.
This photo reminds me of Jason. He loves to sit in cafes and drink coffee and talk with the owners. It was his idea to go to Paris (which I thank him for) and hearing him speak French amazed me each time.

I first went to this cafe with my sister Tracy (a special Roman Holiday). When I was in Rome recently with my family. I kept saying "We need to eat at this restaurant, I know it is right around the corner." Well after walking around lost for a very long time, my husband and kids, disgruntled, said "Let's just eat at the next place we see!" and of course it was the cafe.

This apartment is in our neighborhood. I thought it was so romantic with the red roses climbing up the wall.
This morning when I took Cubana on her walk, I couldn't help but notice that the sunflowers were taking their final bow. They had finished their spectacular summer show and were ending it with such grace.
